Construction Worker Rescued After Being Trapped at TSMC Plant in Phoenix
A construction worker was rescued after becoming stranded between the second and third floors of the TSMC semiconductor manufacturing complex in north Phoenix on Thursday afternoon. Emergency crews from multiple regional departments responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m. after reports indicated that the worker had sustained an ankle injury.
Firefighters utilized an onsite scissor lift to reach the worker, who was subsequently evacuated without the need for specialized technical rescue maneuvers. The worker was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
The incident prompted a significant emergency response, with numerous fire and medical vehicles arriving at the expansive construction site. The TSMC Arizona facility, which represents the largest foreign direct investment in a greenfield project in U.S. history, is set to become a key production site for advanced microchips.
