Jacksonville Driver Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Rollover Crash on I-10

A 60-year-old Jacksonville man died Thursday morning following a multi-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 10 near Interstate 295 in Duval County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Four other people, including two young children, sustained minor injuries in the collision.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. State troopers reported that a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-10, just west of I-295, when the driver veered off the right side of the roadway. The driver then steered back onto the interstate and collided with a westbound white sedan.

Following the collision, the red pickup truck rolled over, crossed the guardrail, and came to a stop in the grass median separating the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10. The 60-year-old driver of the pickup, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 28-year-old male passenger in the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, identified as a 32-year-old woman from Jonesboro, Georgia, also suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. Two children, ages 8 and 6, who were passengers in the SUV, were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. FHP noted that both children were wearing seatbelts.
