Man Charged With Murder in Fatal Northeast Philadelphia Stabbing
Philadelphia police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a young man in Northeast Philadelphia last month. Anthony Ramon-Maldonado faces charges of murder and possessing an instrument of crime for the death of 22-year-old Joshua Toth, authorities announced on Friday, June 5.
The incident began on Sunday, May 24, when officers responding to an unrelated disturbance on the 6000 block of Torresdale Avenue were approached by witnesses reporting a nearby stabbing. Officers subsequently located Toth in the backseat of a Toyota Camry at the intersection of Benner Street and Torresdale Avenue. Toth, who had suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m.
According to police, investigators identified Ramon-Maldonado as the suspect after releasing photos to the public and receiving tips. Following his identification, police arrested Ramon-Maldonado and filed charges against him.
Ramon-Maldonado remains in custody, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 22, 2026. Online court records do not currently list an attorney representing him.
