Former Houston Restaurant Worker Sentenced to Jail for Secretly Recording Customers

A former Houston restaurant dishwasher has been sentenced to one year in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of invasive visual recording, according to Texas court records. Bayson Elias Pu , 31, entered the guilty plea following his arrest on New Year's Eve for secretly filming inside a customer restroom.

The incident occurred at the Lupe Tortilla restaurant located near the Katy Freeway and Echo Lane in Houston. According to court documents, two videos were discovered last year on a hidden camera placed inside the bathroom. The recovered footage depicted a woman and a child in some form of undress, court records alleged.

Pu was employed as a dishwasher at the establishment when the device was active. Following the discovery of the camera and Pu's subsequent arrest, a spokesperson for Lupe Tortilla stated that the restaurant management was cooperating with the law enforcement investigation. Court records obtained on Friday confirmed the finalization of Pu's guilty plea and the one-year jail sentence.
