Four Charged After Harris County Constable Deputies Injured Dispersing Large Gathering

Four people face charges after three Harris County Constable Precinct 4 deputies were injured while attempting to disperse a large gathering of teenagers on Friday night. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. at a rental home in the 19500 block of Country Canyon Road, where authorities estimate between 300 and 500 juveniles had gathered.

According to Precinct 4 investigators, deputies were called to the scene regarding an out-of-control gathering. A physical altercation broke out between deputies and partygoers as authorities attempted to detain individuals and clear the area. Three deputies sustained injuries during the confrontation. One deputy suffered a concussion after being struck on the head with a bottle and is expected to be out of work for at least a week, while another deputy was hit and bitten.

Officials arrested and charged four individuals in connection with the incident. Two 16-year-old girls face charges of assault on a peace officer, with officials alleging that one of the teens bit and kicked a deputy. Additionally, two men were arrested and charged with interfering with public duties after allegedly intervening as deputies tried to control the situation.

Precinct 4 Assistant Chief Danny Garza stated that deputies were attempting to keep the peace and safely disperse the crowd when the assaults occurred. Garza emphasized that the agency will not tolerate assaults on its personnel and that those who do so will face arrest.
