Motorcyclist Killed in Fullerton Intersection Crash Involving Tesla Cybertruck
A motorcyclist died Friday afternoon following a collision with a Tesla Cybertruck at a Fullerton intersection, according to local authorities. The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Orangethorpe Avenue and South Gilbert Street.
Officers responding to the scene found an unidentified male motorcyclist and a brown Honda Navi motorcycle in the middle of the intersection, the Fullerton Police Department stated in a news release. The Tesla Cybertruck was located nearby. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation by police indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound in the second lane of West Orangethorpe Avenue. At the same time, the Tesla Cybertruck was traveling westbound on West Orangethorpe Avenue and attempting to make a southbound turn onto South Gilbert Street when the motorcycle collided with the side of the truck.
Investigators are working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. The Fullerton Police Department noted that the investigation remains active and the exact cause of the crash is still under review.
