Two Drivers Sought After Woman Struck and Killed in West Phoenix Hit-and-Run
Phoenix police are searching for two drivers who fled the scene after striking and killing a female pedestrian in west Phoenix on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian crash shortly before 10 p.m. along McDowell Road. Upon arrival, police found an unresponsive woman lying in the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
According to detectives, the woman was walking along McDowell Road when she was first struck by a tan SUV traveling westbound. Moments later, she was hit by a second vehicle, a white SUV, which was also traveling westbound. Police confirmed that neither driver stopped to remain at the scene.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to identify the specific makes and models of both SUVs. Authorities urge anyone with information about the crash or the vehicles involved to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS , or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers.
