Phoenix Police Search for Two SUV Drivers Following Fatal McDowell Road Hit-and-Run

Phoenix police detectives are searching for two drivers who fled the scene after striking and killing a female pedestrian in west Phoenix on Tuesday night. The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. along McDowell Road.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a pedestrian crash and discovered an unresponsive woman lying in the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators determined that the woman was walking along McDowell Road when she was first struck by a tan SUV traveling westbound. Shortly after, a second vehicle, described as a white SUV also traveling westbound, struck the woman. Neither driver stopped to remain at the scene.

The Phoenix Police Department's investigation remains active as detectives work to identify the specific makes and models of both SUVs. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash or the vehicles involved to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers.
