Benny Mayhem Band Brings Youth Music Workshops and Free Concert to Cranbrook
The Benny Mayhem Band is set to host a series of free National Youth Music Workshops followed by a community concert at Cranbrook Town Oval in Cranbrook, Western Australia, on April 10. Young residents in the region will have the opportunity to explore a variety of musical instruments and receive personal instruction directly from members of the band.
The workshops, running from 2:30 to 4:00 pm, are open to kids and teenagers regardless of their prior musical experience. Participants will have access to drums, bass, guitar, and vocal equipment set up both on stage and in front of the stage. Band members will provide hands-on, one-on-one guidance for each instrument, giving young attendees practical exposure to performing in a real stage environment.
Organizers say the initiative aims to inspire youth by demonstrating that a career in music can start in their hometowns or even from their bedrooms. The Benny Mayhem Band has already delivered these interactive workshops in more than 10 percent of Western Australia’s local government areas, as well as additional locations across Australia, fostering local engagement in music.
Following the workshops, a three-hour free concert featuring the Benny Mayhem Band will commence at 5:30 pm. The performance will include the group’s original songs and covers spanning classic and contemporary artists such as Oasis, Nirvana, Grinspoon, Johnny Cash, The Ramones, and Crowded House. The event also highlights the band’s recently released double album, "Bootlegs," with elements of the recording process being discussed during the workshops as part of their ongoing efforts to share their musical journey with young people.
The event is open to all members of the community, with both the workshops and concert offered free of charge. The Benny Mayhem Band continues to expand its outreach, aiming to engage more youth and communities across the State through live music and educational opportunities.
