Three People Killed in Early-Morning Oakland Shooting
On Saturday in Oakland, California, a shooting in the 8400 block of International Boulevard left three people dead. The incident occurred at around 3 a.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting at that location.
Upon arrival, officers found three individuals who had been shot. According to police, two of the victims died at the scene. The third victim was transported to a hospital, where that person later died.

Five Homicides Reported in Oakland in First Days of 2026
The three deaths from Saturday’s shooting brought the total number of homicides in Oakland in 2026 to five. Police reported that, in addition to the three victims killed on Saturday, two other people were killed in separate shootings on New Year’s Day.
The New Year’s Day shootings occurred on the 2700 block of East 20th Street and the 4500 block of Market Street in Oakland. These two incidents, combined with the triple homicide on International Boulevard, accounted for all five homicides recorded in the city during the first three days of 2026.
City Officials Respond to Gun Violence
Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee issued a statement on Saturday addressing the recent shootings. In her statement, she said that gun violence remains a real and urgent concern and referred specifically to the shootings on Thursday, New Year’s Day, and early Saturday morning.
Mayor Lee stated that the city will continue to work with the Oakland Police Department, the Department of Violence Prevention, Ceasefire, civic leaders, and community partners to reduce incidents of gun violence. Her comments followed the confirmation of the three deaths on International Boulevard and the earlier fatal shootings on East 20th Street and Market Street.
