Police Identify Pedestrian Killed in Omaha Hit-and-Run Crash
Pedestrian Killed in Midtown Omaha Hit-and-Run
The Omaha Police Department identified a pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash near 43rd and Cuming Street in Omaha, Nebraska, on Wednesday morning.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a personal injury accident near 43rd and Cuming Street at around 8 a.m. Investigators determined that a Tesla traveling eastbound on Cuming Street struck a man who was crossing Cuming Street northbound.
Victim Identified by Omaha Police
In a release issued Thursday morning, authorities identified the man as 25-year-old Matthew Siles of Omaha. Police stated that the collision occurred in the center lane of Cuming Street as the Tesla moved eastbound and the pedestrian crossed the roadway.
After the impact, police report that the Tesla left the scene heading eastbound. The vehicle was later located near 37th and Dodge Streets. However, officers have not yet located the driver of the Tesla.
Ongoing Investigation and Request for Information
The Omaha Police Department reports that the investigation into the hit-and-run crash remains ongoing. Police are asking for assistance from the public in locating the driver involved in the incident.
