Teen Fatally Shot During Sandalwood Incident
On Friday night in the Sandalwood area of Jacksonville, Florida, two teenagers and one adult were shot during a drug deal that authorities say went wrong. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that the shooting occurred at an intersection in the neighborhood.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers responded at around 9:10 p.m. to the 2200 block of Mareeba Road East. When they arrived, they found a teenage victim lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. At the same intersection, officers located an adult man in a car who also had multiple gunshot wounds, along with another teenage victim suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Victims Transported to Hospitals
Personnel from the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported all three shooting victims to local hospitals for medical treatment. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that one of the teenagers later died at a hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting.
Authorities confirmed that all three individuals who were shot were involved in a drug deal. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the drug deal went wrong and resulted in a gunfight at the intersection on Mareeba Road East.
