Two Siblings Killed in Far North Dallas Apartment Fire
Two siblings died after an apartment fire in Far North Dallas early Saturday, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials. The incident occurred in the 4000 block of Frankford Road near Midway Road.
Fire Reported Around 3:20 a.m.
Dallas Fire-Rescue reported that at approximately 3:20 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to a fire at a two-story apartment building on Frankford Road. When firefighters arrived, they observed heavy fire coming from an apartment on the first floor of the building.
Second Alarm Requested Due to Reports of Trapped Residents
DFR spokesman Jason Evans stated that, upon arrival, fire crews received reports that multiple residents might be trapped inside the burning apartment. Based on those reports and the visible fire conditions, a second alarm response was requested to bring additional resources to the scene.
Two Occupants Found, Both Later Pronounced Dead
According to Evans, two people were inside the affected apartment when the fire broke out. One occupant was able to get out of the apartment and was transported to a hospital. That person later died. The second occupant was located inside the apartment by responders and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victims Identified as Brother and Sister
Evans confirmed that the two people who died were siblings, a brother and sister. Their names have not been released. No additional details about the victims were provided.
