Fatal Crash Near Via de San Ysidro I-5 North On-Ramp
A man died on Friday after the white Toyota Camry he was driving collided with a tree near the Via de San Ysidro on-ramp to Interstate 5 North in San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP reported that the crash occurred at approximately 11:13 a.m. as the driver traveled eastbound on the Via de San Ysidro on-ramp to I-5. For reasons that are currently under investigation, the vehicle veered to the right, left the roadway, and struck a tree.
Emergency Response and Outcome
After the collision, emergency responders transported the driver to a local medical facility. At the facility, medical personnel pronounced the man dead, according to CHP.
Authorities have not released the man’s name. Officials stated that his identity is being withheld until his next of kin are notified.
