Driver Arrested After Fatal Crosswalk Collision in Warr Acres
Pedestrians Struck at Warr Acres Intersection
On Sunday in Warr Acres, Oklahoma, a driver struck two pedestrians who were in a crosswalk at Northwest 38th Street and North MacArthur Boulevard, according to Warr Acres police.
Police said officers responded to a crash at the intersection and found two victims, a 45-year-old woman and her 19-year-old daughter, who had been hit while crossing the roadway. Authorities reported that the 45-year-old woman was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The 19-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Driver Identified and Taken Into Custody
According to Warr Acres police, the driver involved in the collision was identified as 68-year-old Michael Eugene Osborne of Oklahoma City. Officers took Osborne into custody following the incident.
Police stated that Osborne was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence of drugs, second-degree murder, and driving under the influence while causing an accident with great bodily injury. Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances of the crash beyond these stated complaints.
