Man Shot Outside Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, Police Investigating


Shooting Reported Outside Hulen Mall on Saturday Afternoon

An adult man was shot outside Hulen Mall in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday afternoon, according to the Fort Worth Police Department. Officers responded at around 2 p.m. to the 4700 block of South Hulen Street after receiving calls reporting a shooting.

Victim Found Near Macy's and Red Robin

Police stated that responding officers were directed to a grassy area outside the mall between the Macy's store and a Red Robin restaurant. There, they found an adult male who had suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.

Authorities reported that an off-duty officer from another agency and off-duty medical personnel were already providing aid to the victim when Fort Worth Fire and EMS arrived at the scene. Emergency responders then continued medical treatment.

Injury Described as Non-Life-Threatening

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the injured man was transported to a nearby hospital. Police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Preliminary Findings on How the Shooting Occurred

Investigators with the department said preliminary information indicates the victim was approaching the area outside Hulen Mall when another adult male produced a firearm and shot him. Police stated they believe the two men know each other.

The Fort Worth Police Department reported that its Gun Violence Unit is leading the investigation into the shooting. The unit is interviewing witnesses in connection with the incident near Macy's and Red Robin at Hulen Mall.

Police said that patrol officers and the Directed Response Unit are working to identify the suspect involved in the shooting. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or any arrests related to the case.
