FreshRealm Closing Indianapolis Facility, 148 Jobs Lost

FreshRealm will permanently close its Indianapolis facility at 3120 Post Road on January 31, 2026, resulting in the layoff of 148 employees and the termination of 20 additional employees on or after March 20, 2026.

The WARN Notice was posted on December 2. The facility is located on the city’s east side. The facility would continue to operate during normal operating hours until January 31.

Company rationale

A FreshRealm spokesperson described the layoffs as a \"business decision\" aimed at \"streamlining operations.\" The statement notes that production will be transitioned to other FreshRealm facilities and that there will be no anticipated service disruption for customers.

Regulatory review

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a Chicago law firm, said it is investigating the mass layoff to determine if FreshRealm may have violated the WARN Act. The law firm said employees may be entitled to 60 days of severance pay and benefits rather than a one-time lump sum. FreshRealm said the closure is in compliance with the law.
