A person was shot and killed Thursday morning at Tuckaseegee Park in northwest Charlotte. Police said they responded to Tuckaseegee Road around 8:15 a.m. on December 4 after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound, and the person died before they could be taken to a hospital.

The shooting took place inside Tuckaseegee Park, which is operated by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation. Investigators remained at the scene as they worked to determine what led to the fatal incident. No additional details about the circumstances were released.
