Shooting Reported Early Sunday

Two people were killed in a shooting on Atando Avenue near North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina, around 4:47 a.m. on Sunday. Officers responded to the 120 block of Atando Avenue after receiving a call for an assault with a deadly weapon with injury.

Victims Located at Separate Scenes

Responding officers found one shooting victim at the scene. The victim, identified as D’Andre Weaver, 29, was transported to a nearby hospital. Weaver later died from injuries suffered in the shooting.

A second shooting victim was discovered nearby after crashing their vehicle. Emergency personnel transported the individual to a local hospital. The victim was pronounced dead later on Sunday, and their identity has not yet been released.

Investigation Ongoing

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting in northeast Charlotte. Authorities have not released additional details about suspects or potential motives.
