Woman Found Shot to Death in Indianapolis Home
A 26-year-old woman was found shot to death inside a residence late Monday night in the 700 block of Turtle Creek North Drive, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers responded to the reported shooting at approximately 11:54 p.m., where they discovered the victim, identified as Amanda Sheree Jones, inside the home.
Police confirmed that Jones had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by responding officers and the IMPD Homicide Office.
Victim Identified in Indianapolis Shooting
Authorities stated that a 2-year-old child was also located inside the residence when officers arrived. The child was unharmed. The Department of Child Services was contacted and arrived on scene to ensure the child's safety.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported that two individuals were initially detained during the investigation. Those individuals were later released. Police have not disclosed further details regarding their involvement or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
