Family Finds Body of Jolie Pesina After Crash in San Antonio
Authorities confirmed that 21-year-old Jolie Pesina died in a car crash in San Antonio, Texas, after she was found by family members more than a day after the incident. The crash occurred early Monday morning off Southwest Loop 410 near Highway 16, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Crash Alert Sent Early Monday Morning
Police reported that Pesina’s cellphone sent a crash alert to first responders just before 6 a.m. Monday. San Antonio Police Department and San Antonio Fire Department personnel responded to the area shortly after receiving the alert.
Emergency crews searched the section of Southwest Loop 410 near Highway 16 but did not locate a crash scene. With no visible wreckage and no witnesses present, first responders left the area after completing the initial search.
Family Locates Pesina Over 24 Hours Later
Pesina was not located until Tuesday afternoon. According to police, her body was found by family members who continued searching after authorities cleared the scene. Police reported that Pesina was discovered about one mile from the original dispatch location.
Officials stated that she was found approximately 20 feet down in a ravine in the same general area where the crash alert had been sent. Detectives did not provide an explanation for why Pesina was not located during the initial search conducted Monday morning.
Investigation Continues in San Antonio
Police confirmed that the crash occurred earlier in the week and that the investigation remains active. Authorities reiterated that officers and firefighters searched the area following the alert but did not find evidence of a crash at that time.
The incident prompted continued questions from the family regarding the length of time between the crash alert and the discovery of Pesina’s body. Detectives stated that the investigation into the circumstances of the crash and the search process is ongoing.
