San Jose Crash Kills One, Injures Another in Three-Vehicle Collision
A fatal three-vehicle collision occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:35 p.m. on Foxworthy Avenue near Jarvis Avenue in San Jose, California, United States. According to local authorities, the crash involved a white 2018 GMC Denali, a 2018 Subaru Forester, and a blue Honda CR-V.
One Fatality and One Life-Threatening Injury
Police reported that the GMC Denali was traveling eastbound when its driver attempted to pass the Subaru Forester. During the maneuver, the GMC made contact with the Subaru, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided head-on with the Honda CR-V. The woman driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
The GMC driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Subaru was not injured.
Police Investigation Underway
The San Jose Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit is leading the investigation into the crash. Officers confirmed that the collision took place on a residential street during daylight hours. Video footage shared by a nearby resident showed the GMC pushing the Honda down the street and catching fire after impact. The Honda came to rest overturned on a front lawn.
