Two Arrested in Downtown Nashville Robbery
Two men were arrested in Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America, after allegedly assaulting and robbing a man in the city’s downtown area. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. on Sunday near the downtown entertainment district.
Details of the Incident
According to police, the suspects were identified as Xavier Rhodes, 18, and Sherrod Robinson, 22. The victim, Eli Jordan Walker, reported that Rhodes, who was wearing a gorilla suit, put him in a headlock. Robinson, who was wearing a Hawaiian shirt, allegedly kicked and punched Walker multiple times before taking his shoes.
Arrest and Police Response
Police stated they saw Rhodes and Robinson crossing the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge shortly after the incident. At the time, one suspect was still wearing the gorilla suit and the Hawaiian shirt.
Authorities said Robinson admitted to fighting Walker but denied taking the shoes. Court documents confirmed these statements.
Injuries Reported
Walker sustained a bloody nose, as well as multiple cuts and bruises, during the alleged attack, according to police.
Legal Proceedings and Bond
Rhodes and Robinson were both charged with felony robbery. Each is being held on a $15,000 bond. Rhodes is scheduled to appear for a settlement hearing on November 7, while Robinson has a review hearing set for September 24.
