Six Men Charged in $1 Million Chicago Area Burglary Spree


Six men have been charged in connection with a burglary spree across the Chicago area that spanned more than a year and involved over 115 thefts. Authorities said the group stole more than $1 million in cash and merchandise from local businesses.

According to Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office and Arlington Heights Police, the burglary ring operated between February 2024 and May 2025. The suspects targeted dozens of businesses, including liquor stores and high-end cosmetics shops, in both the city and suburban areas.

Businesses Across Multiple Suburbs Targeted

The burglaries occurred in several suburbs, including Arlington Heights, Addison, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Oak Lawn, Worth, Barrington, South Barrington, Deerfield, Wauconda, Gilberts, West Dundee, Gurnee, Lake Forest, Carpentersville, Des Plaines, Westchester, Wilmette, Northbrook, North Chicago, Glencoe, Skokie, and Morton Grove. Businesses in Chicago were also struck.

Police said the suspects often arrived in stolen vehicles or rental cars with stolen registrations. They concealed their faces with hoods and masks before breaking in. In some instances, officers responded quickly but the suspects escaped by driving away at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

Indictments and Charges

Authorities confirmed that five men were indicted in DuPage County and one in Lake County. The men face multiple felony charges:

  • Jimmy C. Hall, 30: 16 burglary counts, 5 organized retail crime counts, 1 theft count, 1 attempted burglary count.

  • Darryl D. Williamson, 26: 3 burglary counts, 1 organized retail crime count, 1 attempted burglary count.

  • Dequane Hall, 29: 1 organized retail crime count, 2 burglary counts.

  • Antonio Lewis, 26: 8 organized retail crime counts, 1 theft count, 4 attempted burglary counts.

  • Demario M. Brown, 26: 2 burglary counts, 1 organized retail crime count.

  • Marquise D. Williamson, 24: 13 burglary counts, 4 organized retail crime counts, 1 theft count.

Officials said the coordinated investigation involved multiple agencies and is ongoing.
