Authorities are investigating the brutal killing of 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah, an Indian national, who was decapitated at his workplace in Dallas, Texas. The suspect, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban migrant, has been arrested and is being held at the Dallas County Jail on charges of capital murder.

Dallas police responded to the incident early Thursday morning at Downtown Suites motel. Officials confirmed that the victim was attacked with an edged weapon multiple times. The suspect was found still armed with the machete and covered in blood.

Cobos-Martinez, who had been living and working at the motel, admitted to committing the crime during interrogation. Authorities also noted that he had previously been held at a detention facility but was released under supervision in January due to logistical constraints in deportation.
