Justice Still Awaits Who Killed Alisha Hale in the Desert Heat of Phoenix

Phoenix Police Renew Public Appeal in Cold Case Murder of 34-Year-Old Woman

More than four years after the shocking daylight murder of 34-year-old Alisha Hale, Phoenix Police are once again turning to the public, urging anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward. A newly released video may offer fresh clues, and investigators hope that time — and conscience — might finally lead to a breakthrough in this haunting case.

A Tragic Morning in the Desert

On the morning of June 2, 2021, a silver Dodge RAM was captured on surveillance footage speeding along a dirt road near I-10 and Baseline Road in Phoenix. Inside were two people: a male driver and a woman later identified as Alisha Hale.

Moments after the truck stops, both individuals exit the vehicle and walk out of view. What follows is chilling — only the man returns to the truck. He quickly drives off, leaving behind a silent stretch of desert.

Just one day later, police discovered Hale’s lifeless body abandoned in the same remote area.

A Family's Long Wait for Answers

The delay in justice has weighed heavily on Hale’s family and loved ones. Despite the years that have passed, police remain committed to solving the case.

“We are not going to stop,” said Sgt. Brian Bower of the Phoenix Police. “We are going to continue looking for this person. Alisha deserves justice. Her family deserves justice.”

The suspect is believed to have known Hale personally. However, police have not yet been able to identify the man seen in the surveillance footage.

Clues From the Scene and the Video

Detectives are now releasing key details in the hope that the public can help identify the suspect:

Vehicle Description: The truck seen in the footage is described as a 2005 or 2006 Dodge RAM, silver in color, with four doors. One distinct feature that stands out is a rear tow hitch, which investigators believe could help identify the vehicle.

Suspect Description: Based on the video, the man is estimated to be about 5 feet 9 inches tall. Unfortunately, the footage does not provide a clear facial image.

Hale’s Clothing: Detectives say Hale was wearing clothes that were not typical for her, suggesting she may have been in distress or under duress at the time.

Time May Turn Witnesses Into Whistleblowers

With the release of this footage, investigators hope the passing of time has given some individuals the courage to come forward. Whether out of fear, loyalty, or uncertainty, potential witnesses may have remained silent in the past — but police are urging them to speak now.

“Sometimes, people who didn’t feel comfortable before feel more comfortable coming out now,” said Detective Kevin Ham. “We know what happened. We would just like to know why.”
