Man Critically Injured in West Columbus Domestic Violence Shooting
A man was left in critical condition following an early morning shooting in west Columbus on Friday, stemming from what authorities believe to be a domestic violence incident.
Emergency responders were called to the 300 block of South Guilford Avenue, near Sullivant Avenue, at approximately 5:52 a.m., where a shooting had occurred. Upon arrival, one individual was found with life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to Grant Medical Center for emergency treatment.
Authorities confirmed that one person was detained at the scene. A firearm was discovered on the front porch of a nearby residence, though details regarding how it was involved in the incident have not yet been disclosed.
Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. No additional details have been released as officials continue to gather information.
