Pedestrian Fatally Struck While Walking on Highway 280 in San Jose

A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday morning after walking into the fast lane of northbound Interstate 280 near the Highway 880/17 interchange in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 4:55 a.m., when a Toyota Corolla traveling in the far-left lane struck an adult male who had entered the roadway for reasons that remain unclear. The impact occurred just before the freeway's connection to the busy interchange.
