Fort Worth Man Charged After Allegedly Robbing Same Smoke Shop Twice

A 22-year-old Fort Worth man has been arrested and charged in connection with two separate burglaries at the same Lake Worth smoke shop, where he allegedly used a rock to break in on both occasions.

Calvin Washington, the suspect in both incidents, is now facing two counts of burglary. Authorities say he broke into the shop twice this year, targeting it for vapes and other merchandise.

The first incident occurred earlier this year, when a suspect smashed the store’s front door with a rock after hours and made off with goods valued around $150. The burglary caused considerable property damage, though the suspect fled the scene before police could arrive. Surveillance footage captured the break-in, but officers were initially unable to identify the individual responsible.

On July 4, the shop was struck again. This time, the suspect returned to the same location, using the same method of entry — a rock thrown through the front entrance. He reportedly stole items worth more than $1,000.

Responding officers acted swiftly to the second break-in. They established a perimeter near the business and soon discovered a backpack outside a nearby bank, containing a mask, clothing, and a document bearing Washington’s name. This key piece of evidence ultimately led to his identification and arrest.

Washington remains in custody as the investigation continues.
