Tiago’s Cabo Grille Closes After 18 Years in San Antonio

After nearly two decades of serving the San Antonio community, Tiago’s Cabo Grille has officially shut its doors. The beloved Mexican bistro, known for its vibrant flavors and coastal-inspired cuisine, announced the closure through a heartfelt message shared online.

“After many wonderful years of serving this amazing city, the time has come for us to close our doors,” the statement read. The restaurant expressed gratitude to its loyal patrons, highlighting the memories, friendships, and support it received over the years. “Though this chapter ends, the love, laughter and flavor we've shared will live on.”

Located in The Rim Shopping Center at 17711 Interstate 10 W, Tiago’s became a staple for locals and visitors alike, offering a mix of wood-grilled specialties, margaritas, and signature dishes like Mexican chocolate cake. Its coastal Mexican cuisine and vibrant ambiance earned it a lasting place in the city’s dining scene.

Founded in 2007 by Matt Charbonneau, Tiago’s built a reputation for quality and authenticity. The restaurant emphasized made-from-scratch recipes, from hand-prepared entrees to the fresh-cut salsa served with homemade ancho chile paste on every table.

Although the ownership of the restaurant recently changed hands, the decision to close marks the end of an era for many in the community who cherished Tiago’s as more than just a place to eat—it was a place to gather and create memories.
