TopBuild Expands National Footprint with $810 Million Acquisition of Phoenix-Based Roofing Leader

In a strategic move to strengthen its position in the construction sector, TopBuild Corp., a Florida-based insulation and building materials giant, has acquired Progressive Roofing, a well-established commercial roofing company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. The acquisition, valued at $810 million, was finalized as an all-cash transaction.

TopBuild Corp. (NYSE: BLD), headquartered in Daytona Beach, is known for its nationwide network of insulation installation and distribution services. The company’s purchase of Progressive Roofing marks a significant expansion into the commercial roofing market, a sector where Progressive has earned a reputation for high standards and wide-reaching capabilities.

Progressive Roofing was previously owned by Bow River Capital, a private equity firm based in Denver. The firm announced the completion of the deal on July 15, 2025, confirming that the transaction had officially closed.

According to Bow River Capital’s managing director Greg Hiatrides, the roofing company’s long-standing emphasis on quality, safety, and customer service helped establish it as a national leader in its field. Hiatrides expressed confidence that TopBuild will continue to foster and build upon this legacy, noting the synergy between the two companies' cultures and strategic goals.
