Woman Dies in West Phoenix Bus Crash as Impaired Driver Faces Manslaughter Charge

A tragic collision in west Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday morning has claimed the life of 29-year-old Emily Analla, following a crash involving a car and a stationary city bus. The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Thomas Road, prompting an immediate emergency response and a lengthy closure of the surrounding area.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, Analla was riding as a passenger in a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Xavier Manuel when it collided with the rear of a bus that was stopped at a designated bus stop along Thomas Road, just west of 35th Avenue. Investigators noted that Manuel showed clear signs of impairment at the scene and was arrested in connection with the crash.

A second female passenger in the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. The occupants of the bus were reportedly unharmed, and no additional injuries were confirmed.
