New York City to Give Away 100000 Free Tickets for Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular
New York City is gearing up for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration, and this year, residents are in for a special treat. Mayor Eric Adams has announced that 100,000 free tickets will be made available to the public for prime viewing of the dazzling Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, one of the city’s most iconic and beloved events.
The fireworks display, now in its 49th edition, will illuminate the skies above the East River, launching from barges positioned near the Brooklyn Bridge. The show promises to be bigger and brighter than ever, featuring over 80,000 shells, 30 vivid colors, and cutting-edge projection mapping across the bridge itself—a rare visual spectacle that adds to the evening’s grandeur.
Ticketed viewing areas are set at Brooklyn Bridge Park and select sections of Pier 16 and Pier 17 at The Seaport in Manhattan. Tickets will be available starting Tuesday, July 1, at 8:30 AM and will be distributed online on a first-come, first-served basis. Each applicant may request up to four tickets for Brooklyn Bridge Park or two tickets for The Seaport locations.
In a special early-access initiative, Mayor Adams is offering a fast track to the celebration. New Yorkers interested in securing their spot at Brooklyn Bridge Park can text “FIREWORKS” to 917-909-2288. The first 2,500 texters will receive four free tickets each—before the general public even gets a chance to access them online.
“All New Yorkers deserve a chance to celebrate under the sparkle of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, and this year, we’re making that possible for 100,000 lucky people,” said Mayor Adams. “As we celebrate our city’s 400th anniversary and look forward to our nation’s 250th, this is about uniting our communities in joy and patriotism. Whether you’re at Brooklyn Bridge Park or at The Seaport, this event is about making unforgettable memories in the greatest city in the world.”
Please note that Brooklyn Bridge Park will be a fully ticketed venue, and no one will be permitted to enter without a valid ticket. However, the spectacular show will still be viewable from public areas along the FDR Drive, allowing even more New Yorkers to enjoy the celebration without needing a pass.
For those without tickets, designated public entry points along the FDR include:
Montgomery Street and Madison Street
Robert F. Wagner Sr. Place and Brooklyn Bridge On/Off Ramp
Broad Street and Water Street
For individuals requiring accessible accommodations, an ADA-compliant viewing area will be available at Murry Bergtraum Field on the Manhattan side. Entry to this location will be through Pike Street and Cherry Street.
This year’s fireworks show not only commemorates America’s birthday but also reflects on New York City’s historic legacy and vibrant future. With a skyline lit in color, and communities united in celebration, the 4th of July in New York promises to be a night to remember.
