Patrick Reed Secures First LIV Victory on Home Soil with Playoff Triumph in Dallas

Patrick Reed claimed a long-awaited and emotional win in his home state of Texas, capturing his first-ever LIV Golf title after a dramatic four-man playoff at the 2025 LIV Golf Dallas event. Held at Maridoe Golf Club in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the tournament ended with Reed sinking a birdie on the first playoff hole, edging out Louis Oosthuizen, Paul Casey, and Jinichiro Kozuma.

The victory marked Reed’s first LIV Golf win in 41 starts, making the moment all the more meaningful. "I think the biggest relief is finally winning in my home state," Reed said after the round. "They reminded me I hadn’t won in Texas before, and to finally get it done here means a lot. Getting my first win as part of LIV makes it even more special."

Reed’s final round was a rollercoaster. He started with a commanding five-shot lead but struggled with five bogeys on the front nine under the intense Texas heat. However, a steady even-par back nine was enough to force a playoff. Despite some tentative putting during regulation, Reed delivered when it counted most, finishing with a clutch birdie to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Jon Rahm's impressive top-10 streak in LIV events came to an end as he finished T-11, marking the first time he has placed outside the top 10 since joining LIV Golf last year.

In the team competition, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC continued their dominant form, clinching their third consecutive team title by defeating Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces GC by a margin of seven shots. DeChambeau praised the consistency of his team, saying, “I’m super proud of the way everybody played. We all finished pretty much in the top 10. To three-peat here in Dallas, in my hometown, is fantastic. The fans brought an amazing energy, and this is exactly what LIV Golf is all about. I’m pumped for what’s next.”

LIV Golf now heads to Spain for its next tournament, LIV Golf Andalucía, scheduled for July 11–13 at the iconic Valderrama Golf Club, promising another exciting chapter in the league’s growing international presence.
