Two Women Found Dead from Gunshot Wounds in East Phoenix Apartment Triggers Ongoing Investigation

A tragic scene unfolded in East Phoenix on Thursday morning after two women were found dead inside an apartment near 24th Street and McDowell Road. The discovery was made shortly after 9 a.m., when a concerned apartment complex employee called 911 to request a welfare check on two residents who had not been seen or heard from for several days.

Upon arrival, Phoenix police officers were escorted into the apartment by the employee. Inside, they discovered the bodies of two adult women, both appearing to have died from gunshot wounds. The exact time of death remains unknown, but authorities believe the women may have been deceased for some time before being discovered.

Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department have since launched a full investigation into the incident. While foul play is suspected due to the nature of the injuries, officials have not yet confirmed whether they are actively searching for a suspect or if any weapons were recovered at the scene. The relationship between the two women has not been disclosed, and their identities have not yet been released pending family notification.

The apartment where the incident occurred is located near 24th and Willetta streets, in a residential area of East Phoenix that is typically quiet and well-trafficked. The building’s staff reportedly grew concerned after noticing an extended silence from the unit and a lack of movement in or out of the apartment, prompting the call to authorities.

As of now, no further details about the case have been made public. The cause and manner of death will be officially determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner. Meanwhile, detectives continue to gather evidence and interview anyone who may have had recent contact with the victims.

The deaths have left residents in the complex shaken, as investigators work to understand what led to the sudden loss of two lives. Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact Phoenix police as the investigation remains ongoing.
